1. Introduction

DrumV ("we", "our", or "the app") is a drum practice application that helps you learn and improve your drumming. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our application and related services. By using DrumV, you agree to this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account data: If you sign up (e.g. email or social login), we store your email address, display name, and authentication identifiers necessary to operate your account. Usage data: We may record how you use the app (e.g. exercises viewed, practice sessions, BPM and duration) to improve the product and personalize your experience. Content you create: Drum patterns you save, edit, or share are stored and associated with your account. Device and technical data: We may collect device type, browser, and similar technical information to ensure compatibility and security. Audio: Practice sounds (metronome, drum sounds) are generated locally in your browser using the Web Audio API. We do not record, store, or transmit your audio; no audio is sent to our servers.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and local storage as follows. Necessary: session and authentication, consent record (drumv-consent), and language (NEXT_LOCALE) so the app works. Preference: theme and metronome settings stored in your browser. Analytics: only with your consent (e.g. Google Analytics); we do not load analytics until you accept. You can change or withdraw consent anytime via "Cookie preferences" in the footer or in Settings. We do not sell data from cookies.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: provide and maintain the app; authenticate you and manage your account; save and sync your patterns and practice history; improve our services and fix issues; send you important service-related communications (e.g. security or policy updates); and, where you have agreed, to send marketing or product updates. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored using industry-standard hosting and database services (e.g. Supabase). We use appropriate technical and organizational measures (including encryption in transit and access controls) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we strive to protect your information in line with best practices.

5. Sharing and Disclosure

We may share your information only: (a) with service providers who assist us in operating the app (under strict confidentiality and data-processing terms); (b) if required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or the safety of others; (c) in connection with a merger, sale, or other transfer of assets (with notice where required). We do not sell or rent your personal information.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage your account and many preferences in the app (e.g. Settings). To delete your account and associated data, use the "Delete account" option in Settings. For other requests, use the Help & Support form in the app (Settings → Help & Support).

7. Children

Our service is not directed at children under 13 (or higher age where required). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions) where required by applicable law.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the app or by email. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
